Fire Hydrant CerTifier


The Fire Hydrant Certifier is the AS2419 authority certifying fire hydrant systems and managing projects in Brisbane.

The Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Commission on-site hydrant systems including; boosted flow and pressure tests, hydrostatic tests and checks to ensure hydrant systems are installed and commissioning as per AS2419
  • Conduct pre-construction flow and pressure testing
  • Deliver projects are required. Current projects include;
    • Build and commissioning a pump truck (replicates the function of a fire truck)
    • Design a hydrant testing program that allows the performance of thousands of hydrants to be statistically represented by the performance of dozens of hydrants
  • Report directly to the director with the support of a left-hand man and administration assistant
  • Communicate effectively with the team and answer technical enquiries from clients

About You

  • Mechanical or Civil Engineer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and a view to gain Chartered Status
  • Ideally you have experience with fire hydrant design, maintenance or operation
  • Enjoy working with a small growing team
  • Physically able to carry and install equipment with a manual Drivers licence
  • Willing to work away from home for approximately 2 weeks per year
